WP2: evaluation framework and measurement tools| Summary |
This cross-cutting work package is being led by Fiona Bull at Loughborough University and develops an evaluation framework and the measurement tools required to evaluate the impact of infrastructural interventions such as Connect2. It includes preparatory conceptual work to identify which variables should be measured for the purposes of evaluation as well as the development and field-testing of new or modified tools as required. The originality of this work package lies not in the creation of instruments de novo (such as a new physical activity questionnaire) but in the integration of best research practice between disciplines to produce new composite tools. The outputs will be further tested and applied in WPs 3 to 5, providing a basis for recommending an evaluation framework and measurement tools to inform the future monitoring and evaluation of interventions of this kind.
| | Why important? | An evaluation framework and measurement tools are the first steps required to evaluate the impact of infrastructural interventions. The outcome is crucial as it affects all subsequent work streams, in particular WP2 - WP5. | | Who's involved delivering the scheme | Lead: Fiona Bull (Loughborough)
Partners involved: Brand, Cooper, Mutrie, Ogilvie, Powell, Preston, Rutter | | Start and duration | Start: At kick-off
Duration: 18 months | | Progress and outcomes | The planned outputs are:
- D2.1: Evaluation framework
- D2.2: Self-report survey tool
- D2.3: Modified intercept survey
- D2.4: Method and framework for economic evaluation
These deliverables will be made available on this website in the outputs section (left hand menu bar) when completed and approved. |
